In the history of the larger church, OHCC is fairly young. Our first public worship service was in 1993. We quickly grew and started plans to build a place of our own. In 2002 the church building was finished. Being on a windy corner caused us to reevaluate our roof fairly quickly, the roof was added/changed in 2009. In the years 2017 and 2018 we learned that there was some moisture problems around our windows. In the winter of 2018 we updated the steeple area, where the most damage was found and in fall 2019 we are updating the remainder of the church to be sure all the moisture-damage is removed.
We are part of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The ECC has its roots in Sweden, with the denomination in the US beginning in 1885.
As part of the Northwest Conference we are blessed to partner with the churches in our area to provide great youth events, support our camp (Lake Beauty Bible Camp in Long Prairie), leadership, and so much more.
We are also very lucky to have a longevity to our staff. From March 2009 to August 2019 our staff was consistent, the time really flew by. In August of 2019 our Senior Pastor retired. We are currently in the search process for whom the Lord calls to serve OHCC and the community of Hutchinson and surrounding areas. We would love to sit down with you and talk about what makes OHCC so great, so unique and how we got here.
