Trick or Treat for the Food Shelf

Is an annual event that happens the last Wednesday [before] Halloween. Students gather with their youth groups a little before 5p.m. where they are assigned specific neighborhoods to walk and collect.

Students collect food from 5p.m. to approximately 6:30p.m. (really they start at 5p.m. and walk their neighborhood until they've hit each house).

After they have stopped at each home, students head to St. Anastasia school where the food is weighed by the food shelf and sorted to be transported to the food shelf.

**Things to note: 1. students cannot enter apartment buildings so food must be brought to a church; 2. if you are not going to be home at 5p.m. please place a bag with "HAY" on it by the front door,  students can collect it; 3. any financial gifts are not carried by students, they will be handed directly to the adult supervising each group of students; and 4. the food shelf weighs food to help when it comes to applying for grants so consider that when you are donating - let's make the students stronger by bringing in the most weight ever!
